Sidewalk Vending Enforcement To protect the health and safety of the public, a joint effort to prevent illegal sidewalk vending is ongoing. This involves City Code Enforcement staff, Orange County Health Care Agency staff, and others. In July 2024, the Lake Forest City Council adopted Ordinance 369, which provides Code Enforcement staff additional tools to enforce the Lake Forest Municipal Code related to illegal sidewalk vending. Link to Lake Forest Municipal Code / Ordinance 369 Along with impounding and stopping the illegal vending, staff also clean and remediate any damage or impacts caused by the activity. Vendors are provided with the required notices and information on how to obtain confiscated items should they wish to do so. As part of the City’s enforcement efforts, a new program (Smartsheet) is being used to track the status of active illegal sidewalk vendors. The Vendor Status Report will be updated on a weekly basis.
