الرئيسية Business Business Watch BUSINESS WATCH Join the Lake Forest Business Watch Program For years, law enforcement has encouraged the use of Neighborhood Watch programs because they have proven to be one of the most effective strategies for keeping crime out of our neighborhoods. A good neighbor is simply the best crime fighting tool ever invented. That's why the City, in partnership with the Orange County Sheriff's Department, is providing a Business Watch program. Business Watch is a free crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of business owners in cooperation with law enforcement to prevent crime in their community. It is a joint partnership between the City, Lake Forest businesses, and the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Why Business Watch? Citizen involvement is essential to prevent crime. You and your fellow merchants are the ones who really know what is going on in your community. By cooperating with each other and the police, people can help fight crime in their community in the most effective way - before it begins! Business Watch members place stickers in their windows, warning criminals that they are in an active Business Watch Community, and that "merchants are watching out for each other." It's Easy to Join Simply fill out the Business Watch Enrollment Application form here and please submit completed forms to Brittney Oldham by email (boldham@ocsheriff.gov), mail, or in person. A representative from the Orange County Sheriff's Department will come by your business and attach a Business Watch sticker to your storefront window. In the event a crime occurs at your business, deputies will be able to retrieve your emergency contact information and contact you immediately regarding the incident. Getting everyone involved, employees as well as employers, will develop a comprehensive approach to safety for each individual business as well as the entire business community. The Crime Prevention Unit is here to help and will provide business owners with periodical emails regarding recent crime trends, as well as crime prevention tips. Remember, crimes against businesses are usually crimes of opportunity. The Orange County Sheriff's Department is here to protect and support you in your business needs. For inquiries during business hours, please contact Brittney Oldham at 949-461-3546. For immediate attention 24 hours a day, call the Non-Emergency number at 949-770-6011.
