Home Currently Underway Currently Underway Posted: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 Notice of Construction PUBLIC WORKS Trabuco Road Rehabilitation Project The City’s contractor, All American Asphalt, will be grinding and paving Trabuco Road from Bake Parkway to Peachwood from October 14 through October 18. Traffic control will be set up to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction during the contractor’s working hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with all lanes of traffic open at the end of each day of construction. Access to all businesses located along this segment of Trabuco Road will remain open during construction operations but will be limited at times. This week, portable changeable message signs have been set up by the contractor along Trabuco Road to alert the public and encourage drivers to use an alternate route if possible. Additionally, written notices have been delivered to all businesses within the project limits and staff is also using social media to inform the public of the City’s planned construction activities. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by this December. TRABUCO ROAD REHAB PHASING PLAN Rockfield Boulevard Median Improvements Staff has issued the Notice to Proceed to I.E. General Engineering, Inc. for the Rockfield Boulevard Median Improvement Project. This project will replace the existing painted median and stick-down delineators with a raised hardscaped median to improve traffic safety along Rockfield Boulevard south of Lake Forest Drive. Changeable message signs have been set up along Rockfield Boulevard to alert the public of the proposed construction work, and the City’s contractor will be setting up traffic control this week in preparation for his excavation activities. The project is scheduled to be completed before the end of this year. Citywide Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project On September 18, 2024, City Council approved a contract with Cheloletty Engineering, Inc. (Cheloletty) to begin the City’s annual sidewalk rehabilitation project. The project will remove and replace approximately 7,000 square feet of pedestrian walkway around the city at 88 locations that have been determined unrepairable through inspection. Cheloletty began demolition and construction on October 7, and the project completion is anticipated in January 2025.
