The upgrade will improve user experience and functionality for staff and applicants. The building permit counter will be impacted to allow city staff to finalize and launch the new system. The counter will operate as follows: Friday, March 22 | Counter partially closes at 4 p.m. No permits will be issued after 3 p.m. The counter will remain open to answer questions and issue you plan checks with an additional plan check timeframe. *Public Works and Planning counter/permit services will also be affected during the transition. Monday, March 25 - Wednesday, March 27 | Counter partially closed No permits will be issued during these days. The counter will remain open to answer questions and issue you plan checks with an additional plan check timeframe. *Public Works and Planning counter/permit services will also be affected during the transition. The deadline for inspection requests for Monday, March 25 - Wednesday, March 27, is today, at 2 p.m. Inspection requests during the upgrade will be handled by phone at 949-461-3470. Available inspection slots will be limited. No final inspections will be performed for projects that require building plans. For emergency inspections, please contact the Building Department directly. City staff will work during the closure day and through the weekend, anticipating that the permit counter will reopen at full capacity on Thursday, March 28, when the cloud-based system is launched.
