The City of Lake Forest wants you to succeed in your goal of becoming an Eagle Scout by completing a project that meets the needs of Scouting America and the City of Lake Forest. To better assist you, below are a few steps to follow: Scout will review the List of Projects available. The Scout can pick a project on the list or suggest another project to benefit the community. The Scout is encouraged to research their neighborhood and develop a project. Once a project has been selected, the Scout will complete and submit the City of Lake Forest Interest Form and email it to Peggy Samantha in the Public Works Department at psamantha@lakeforestca.gov or mail it to City Hall at City of Lake Forest, 100 Civic Center Drive, Lake Forest, CA 92630, Attn: Peggy Samantha. Once the city receives the Interest Form, the submission will be reviewed by staff. Upon receiving city approval of the proposed project, the Scout and City staff will meet to define the project details and timeline either at City Hall or at the proposed project location. The Scout will finalize the plans of the project and submit the Scouting America project approval forms which are found in the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook. Once City staff has received a copy of the approved project, and the timeline has been established to start the proposed project, the Scout will be responsible for the fundraising and organizing volunteers. As the project approaches, the Volunteer Policy Waiver and Release forms will need to be completed by each volunteer. Please note: The City of Lake Forest cannot accept projects on emergency deadlines. Be prepared to make all contacts and communications required to complete the project with limited parental or adult involvement. Parents or adult troop leaders are welcome and encouraged to accompany the scout during all meetings. The City of Lake Forest reserves the right to reject any project.
