Lake Forest residents are encouraged to complete and submit an application, indicating their commission preference, to the City Clerk’s office by January 4, 2021. Applicants must be a resident of Lake Forest, a registered voter in the City and not an officer or employee of the city.
All applications received will be forwarded to each appointing Councilmember. Councilmembers may initiate interviews of applicants at their own discretion. Councilmember review and selection should be completed within 30 days of the City Clerk’s transmission of the completed applications to the Councilmembers.
The City Clerk shall place an item on a future City Council meeting agenda for selection of commissioners. During the meeting, the Councilmember shall announce the selection of his appointment; the appointment must be ratified by one Councilmember other than the appointing Councilmember. Application will be made available at the City Clerk’s office and online.
