City Council Endorses Veterans Cemetery in Anaheim

The Lake Forest City Council on Tuesday unanimously supported plans for a Veterans Cemetery in Gypsum Canyon.
"To honor and respect the men and women who served our country and who deserve the right to be buried in Orange County, we ask federal, state, and local governments to closely consider this proposed project as a benefit, not only to Orange County, but to the region as well," the Council's resolution reads.
The resolution further noted "the property's breathtaking views of the rolling hills remind many of Arlington Cemetery and (Lake Forest) can bring historical pieces from the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, which closed in 1999, to the Veterans Cemetery location in Anaheim Hills."
