Escalating COVID-19 cases spurred Governor Gavin Newsom to push the County of Orange back into the Purple Tier, the state’s most restrictive tier.
Impacted industries and activities in Orange County will have 24 hours to comply with this action and make necessary modifications.
Essentially, schools may continuing operating as they are: If they are open, they can remain open. If they are in the process of moving toward in-person teaching, they can continue with a waiver. If they are online only, they must remain online.
Gyms and similar businesses must move to outdoor only.
The state’s press release, which includes additional details on how schools and other industries are affected, is here.
