The Community Development Department is responsible for the administration of programs that guide the City's growth and development. The Department is comprised of the Planning Division, Housing Division, Building and Safety Services Division, and Code Enforcement Division.
The Planning Division provides planning-related staff support to the City Council and Planning Commission and coordinates the activities of the regional planning agencies affecting the City.
The Housing Division administers the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program, and affordable housing.
The Building and Safety Services Division reviews building construction plans, issues building permits, and provides inspection services for new construction and remodeling activity throughout the City.
The Code Enforcement Division ensures compliance with property maintenance, zoning standards, and other City codes.
