Southbound Trabuco Road Lanes Closed Due to Construction

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California will be working on a major water pipeline project in Lake Forest, leading to a lane closure on Trabuco Road. Two of the three southbound lanes on Trabuco from Ridge Route to El Toro will be closed around the clock until approximately March 23

The Allen-McColloch Pipeline (AMP) delivers treated water from the Robert B. Diemer Water Treatment Plant in Yorba Linda to southern Orange County. Metropolitan will be relocating a connection between the AMP and another pipeline. Construction is planned  through April 2018 on Trabuco Road between El Toro Road and Ridge Route Drive.

The water supply to homes and businesses will not be affected. However, the construction work will require lane closures on Trabuco Road, and there will be lighting and noise from equipment. Metropolitan strives to be a good neighbor during construction projects and will make every effort to minimize these inconveniences. We encourage residents to continue to support local businesses during construction.

Metropolitan owns and maintains the regional water system that supplies Southern California with imported water supplies. This project is necessary to ensure that Metropolitan can continue to provide reliable water supplies to its 26 member public agencies serving 19 million people.  Reliabity is a core part of Metropolitan’s mission.
